I cant believe how close that film came to being made. On the commentary track for Thelma and Louise Scott acualy talks about being in production on this film and the ton of story boards hes just done.

What could have been.

Arnie would have made an okay Neville.

Will Smith, although I like his 'Fresh Prince' persona... I'm not 100% convinced that he could do it...

does skin colour have anything to with it? possiblity? however a good character actor is need for this role... considering that the majority of the book is in isolation. The need to keep the audience interested.

THE EVIL DEAD ISN'T A ZOMBIE MOVIE! Dawn of the Dead is the greatest zombie movie ever. You are right. I like Night of the Living as well. But this was started about the Evil Dead, which isn't a zombie movie. Watch it and its sequels sometime. Not about zombies. So much more depth than a zombie movie. Or at least depth in the horror movie sense.
Now, onto the topic. The Evil Dead, is great. Cheap, original, and fun. I suggest watching Evil Dead II as well. Adds to the experience once you miss get past the confusing beginning.

i stand corrected... evil dead 2 is absolutely awesome... although as far as horror goes, dawn & night of the living dead are better...
but, in evil dead 2, how did they do that bit where ash and the woman see the spirit of her dad, telling them how to kill the deadites?
